Are you in need of a moment´s rest from everyday life? A descent into silence, conscious presence, and relaxation?

Serinity & Rest retreats will offer you the opportunity to catch your breath amidst the stunning nature of Northern Norway, by the shimmering Arctic Sea. 

The retreat program is structured to include both rest and small moments of insight and enthusiasm with enough time to process, rest, read, and enjoy the surrounding beauty of arctic nature.

The retreats differ slightly with their programs. In the September retreat we focus on finding inner peace and balance.The November retreat is dedicated to finding your inner strength.

After the retreat, you will also be able to give yourself small moments of rest independently by using the learnt excercises in your everyday life. The core idea is that you feel rested and calm after the retreat, and that you feel joy and gratitude for having received new ways to survive and revive also for the future.

 

What´s included?

The Serinity & Rest retreats include relaxing and meditative practices through various methods, such as restorative yoga, meditation and Qigong with the gentle guidance of our instructor Janna. The retreat also includes arctic bathing and sauna at our Barents Sauna Camp, cozy and comfortable accommodation in our Hedvig house rooms, and breakfasts, lunches and light evening dinners throughout the weekend. The facilities:

  • For our exercises we will be using the Bugøynes school´s facilities in the center of the village, just a few steps from our accommodation and restaurant.
  • Our accommodation in Hedvig house offers cozy rooms, kitchen and lounge areas with a home-feel. The house is in three floors, and each floor offers a bathroom. The twin rooms offer two single beds.
  • Meals are offered in Restaurant Bistroen.

PROGRAM 20.-22.9.

Inner Peace

In the September retreat, we focus on finding inner peace and balance in the midst of busy everyday life. Just as nature begins to slow down in the autumn, you too can calm down and rest.
At the retreat, you get to quiet down and ask yourself how you’re doing right now. With gentle exercises, movement and meditation, you will gradually be freed from demands and stress. You get to get to know your wonderful core self again, which may have been hidden under all the hustle and bustle.

 

Friday, September 20th

16:00 – Arrival and Welcome: The retreat begins on Friday at 4:00 PM when you arrive at Bugøynes. We will check in to our accommodation and enjoy lunch in Restaurant Bistroen. After lunch we will make a small walking tour around the village.

19.00 Introduction to the theme of the retreat and orientation. This is a great moment to start relaxing and letting go of the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

 

Saturday, September 21st

9:00 – Breakfast

10:00 – Gentle movement for the body and exercises for the mind.

13:00 – Lunch: Enjoy a delicious lunch in Bistroen.

Free Time: In the afternoon, you can choose to spend your time outdoors or in relaxation. You can take a nature walk or simply rest and enjoy the tranquility.

16:00 – EFT tapping workshop- Stress release. Relaxation exercises

18:30 – Arctic bathing and Sauna at Barents Sauna Camp

20:00 – Light dinner at Hedvig house

 

Sunday, September 22cnd

9:00 – Breakfast: Wake up refreshed in the morning and enjoy breakfast.

10:00 – Morning Qigong – Achieving Balance & Finding inner peace. Reflection and meditation

12:00 – Lunch

13:00 – Relaxation exercise with yoga followed by Sound bowl relaxation. 

16:00 – Conclusion: The retreat ends You can depart for home feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Inner Strength

 

The November retreat is dedicated to finding your inner strength. Through rest, you will get tools to deepen your self-knowledge and clarify the direction of your own life. During the retreat, we focus on recovery and regenerating its raft of creativity and strength.
During the retreat, you will recover through carefully selected exercises, movement and meditation. You will learn to identify your strengths and find your place in life. This gives you more resources to use in your everyday life.

 

Friday, November 15th

Sunday, November 17th

8:30 – Breakfast: Wake up refreshed in the morning and enjoy breakfast.

10:00 – Balancing Morning Qigong- Inner Power. Clarifying the direction of my own life – reflection and meditation

12:00 – Lunch

13:00 – Flowing movement and relaxation exercise through yoga. Final meditation with sound bowls

16:00 – Conclusion: The retreat ends You can depart for home feeling refreshed and relaxed.

I am Janna, an eternal enthusiast and a lover of all things beautiful. Handicrafts, nature, and holistic well-being are important to me. I began studying the physiology of relaxation based on my own experiences and needs. Now I help others with gentleness and love through various methods and exercises. I will help you stop and listen to your body’s messages so that you can enjoy your everyday life energetic, without performing.

PRICING

Pricing per retreat:

  • 7600NOK/person in shared twin room (approx. 680€ according to 20.6. currency)
  • 8200NOK/person in single room (approx. 730€ according to 20.6. currency)

Full-board pricing includes

Prices do not include

Transfers from Ivalo/Inari

Transferscan be organized from Ivalo/Inari depending on person amount and vehicle. Price for return transfer will vary between 70€-200€/person (depending if we use personal vehicles or taxi). If you are planning to arrive with your own car and are willing to take passengers to share gasoline costs please let us know.

 

Minimum participant amount required is 4 persons, and maximum group size 8 persons.

Extra nights are possible for 550nok/person/night in twin room and 750nok/night in single room

 

Payments:

  • We will invoice the payment in advance. The retreat has to be confirmed with payment 31 days before the retreat date.
  • If you need to cancel 0-30 days you can try to find yourself a replacement. We will also try to find you a replacement.
  • If our instructor Janna needs to cancel  due to unforseen reasons we will make a full refund.
  • We will confirm the retreat with minimum 4 participants.

WHAT TO BRING

Outdoor Clothing

  • You will need long underwear, good trekking shoes
  • Take a warm jacket
  • In November winter pants and winter jacket 
  • Also bring gloves and a hat

Indoor Clothing

  • The restorative yoga, singing bowls and other exercises will be indoors. Take comfortable but warm clothing with you suitable for stretching and meditation. Use lots of layers which you can dress or undress.

Other things you should bring are:

  • Swimsuit for sauna & swimming!
  • Headlight for the evenings!

What is Restorative yoga?

Restorative yoga is a gentle and therapeutic style of yoga that focuses on relaxation, deep rest, and stress reduction. It involves gentle poses and deep breathing. The extended holds in restorative poses allow for both physical and mental relaxation. The primary goal of restorative yoga is to create a nurturing and supportive environment for the body and mind to release tension and promote healing.

 

What is Sound healing?

Sound healing with singing bowls is known for its ability to induce deep relaxation and reduce stress. The soothing and harmonious sounds can help calm the nervous system and promote a sense of calm and well-being. Sound healing is often used as a complement to meditation and mindfulness practices.

 

What is Qigong?

Qigong is a traditional Chinese practice that combines gentle movements, deep breathing, meditation, and mindfulness to cultivate and balance the body’s vital energy (qi or chi), promoting physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual growth.
